idle air bypass: leans out idle mixture ?
« on: June 21, 2012, 05:59:29 PM »
I understand the role of the idle air bypass, admitting more air by NOT increasing throttle blade angle, to keep the corrrect relationship with the transfer slot.  But does adding bypass leans out the idle "recipe" ?  Knowing it acts like a vacuum leak kind of tells me it leans it out, but increasing throttle blade angle with the idle speed screw must lean it out as well ?  Just trying to learn more and more.  Frank.

Not much as the throttle angle is lowered to compensate for the additional incoming air to maintain the same idle speed.....Cliff
