Sealing the Vacuum tree

(1/1)

gr8whitebuffalo:
Hi all,

I've installed my carb and am doing fine-tuning now.  When I installed my carb I noticed that the vacuum "tree" (the multi-pronged vacuum connection on the back of the carb base that provides a number of manifold vacuum sorces for various accessories, etc) wasn't able to thread in real tight on the carb base, mostly because of the alignment of a hardline hookup.  Bascially I can wiggle the tree a bit in the threads in this position and am afraid that it might be introducing a little bit of a vacuum leak.

What can I use to seal up these threads?

Thanks!
-Trevor

I would start with a few wraps of white teflon plumbers tape.  After that, you could hit it with a little carb spray while engine is running to determine if it is leaking.

Sorry to jack, but speaking of vac trees, is there somewhere you can get them that only have 3-4 ports and not 40?!
