Quadrajet second bank flap opening
« on: May 07, 2012, 08:07:30 PM »
Hello,

I have a Quadrajet from an Olds 1973, and I was wondering if the secondary bank  opening are not exactly straight when fully open, is it ok, or a rod needs to be changed or adjusted ?

Also, the two small round tabs below the body broke off, I recover one, but can't find the other one...  Is it mandatory, or the gasket will fit the gap ?

Thanks.
Thanks,
Dominic

dominic .if you have cliffs book he talks about the pins on page 81 .just slide the long mounting bolts through the casting when you attach the base plate and that will help align the gasket.also the secondary plates in the base plate should open exacty 90 degrees.thats on page 80.hope this helps. dean

Just finished modifying and putting it back together.  It performs very well!  Even discovered two problems while checking the carburator and reading the book, which were easy to fix.

This book will keep its place in my library  ;D
Thanks,
Dominic
