« on: September 18, 2012, 05:58:06 PM »
Cliff, My q-jet on my 67 gto, ran 4 runs on Friday test n tune, runs 13.28 to 13.34 after coming home i pulled plugs out and all of them almost look fouled?? Before plugs where burning almost white. Really did not do anything at all. Any ideas??Picked up dirt someplace???Going to take top off tommarrow just to look.Car ran great pulling hard and fuel pressure set at 5 psi bouncing up to 5.5 pounds. Visually looked around perimeter of carb. see nothing unusual. Any ideas?? I did notice lately car idle,s ruff and both idle screws are almost all the way out to idle.

Cliff, took carb. apart today to find out whats going on and i think i found the problem, you know im not running a power piston and hole was soldered up, i tipped carb. body over and solder came right out. resoldered it up and shot it with air holding great, may of had a vacum leak big time. Also a small piece was wedged near rear jet area. All cleaned out and ready to reassemble and try out tommarrow. Just wanted to let you know. Rich

Sounds like you figured it out.  An aluminum APT plug from the airhorn makes a nice plug for the power piston bore....Cliff
