recommendation on jets and metering rods
« on: January 29, 2013, 07:25:25 PM »
Cliff - i bought a couple of rebuild kits from you a while back and am just now getting to the rebuild.  I will need a choke pulloff and bushing kit and also want to get a recommendation on jets and metering rods so i can order everything at once.  The carb is a 7040273 and it is going on a RAIII 400 block with a 4.25" stroker crank.  The heads are stock #12's with a 10:1 CR and i'm using a crower 60919 cam.  It's going into a 70 T/A with 3.55 gears.  Everything else is stock except for large bore RARE exhaust manifolds and 2.5" exhaust.  i would appreciate your recommendation on jets and primary and secondary metering rods.  Also, is your #2 recipe the right choice?  Any other recommendations?  Thanks in advance for your help - Gerry

Gerry, nice carburetor and it will work fine for what you are doing.  It will need a bit more idle fuel for what you are doing, we can go over specifics when you call for jets/metering rods, and it will need a lighter power piston spring as well.....Cliff
