Primary throttle shaft side play
« on: May 08, 2009, 10:47:28 AM »
What is to much side play on the throttle shaft before it needs to be bored and bushings installed?  I have a dial indicator wondering the readings that you go by.

They all need bushings, as the factory clearances are simply too great and can allow unfiltered air to enter the engine, not to mention are a slight vacuum leak at idle and effect tuning, etc.

Our kit reduces primary throttle shaft play to less than .001".....Cliff

Wouldn't less than .001 be concidered an interference fit?  How do you keep the shaft lubricated when it's that tight?

The bushings we use are self lubricating, some sort of oil impregnated bronze material....Cliff
