Secondary Airshaft Screw Removal
(1/1)
passthebuck:
Cliff,
I am just now getting to installing the new secondary plastic cam you sent me. I tried to grind off the peened over ends of the screws holding the air valves on with a carbide burr in my dremel, but they appear to be hard steel & they just laughed at the carbide burr. Should I step up to a mini grinding wheel or do you have another double secret method that wont fill the airhorn with grinding bits? Thank you!
Greg
omaha:
yes, use a dremel rotary with a mini grinding wheel. that is what I use, works good. Just be careful and go slow. the one I use looks like a mini cut-off wheel.
77cruiser:
Not real carbide if it was laughed at. ;)
omaha:
agree, real carbide would work but the one in the little rotary dremel kits (1/8) do not cut that good. I don't believe they are "real" carbides.
passthebuck:
I cant find a real carbide for my dremel anywhere. No big deal as I just ended up using the stone & following that, I flushed the air horn well. Thanks guys!
