I'm starting to feel a little bipolar here, but I'm not sure what's happening now.
The weather here has been 60 degrees one day, and in the 30's the next. I'm not sure if this is causing my issue or not:
This happened again this morning, so I figured I'd ask for an expert's opinion. After the truck warmed up, it idled down, so I put it in gear and back out of the driveway. After backing out, I put it in gear and it nearly died. I was getting backfires and smelling gas being dumped through, so I pulled it back into the driveway and shut it off. I went in to get a couple of tools in case it was going to try and leave me on the side of the road today. Came back out of the house and got back in to start it up, and it idled fine all the way to work.
I've had this happen a couple of times now since the rebuild. I did't open the choke thermostat when I rebuilt the carb to begin with, so I don't know if it's bad or not. But I'm looking for suggestions as to if this is the problem or if it may be the choke pull off. I did test the pull off when I had it off by pushing it in and capping the tube with my finger. It didn't lose pressure, so I'm thinking that it's still good.
Am I on the right path here?
