Choke shaft seal

Does it matter which direction the seal goes in on the choke shaft 79 corvette.

Cliff Ruggles:
The one in the housing for all hot air choke models needs to be installed with the lip facing in inboard or away from the choke coil.  Use care when installing the shaft that you don't fold the seal lip over.

The one in the carburetor really doesn't matter, but we still like to have the lip facing outboard as it's less likely to draw in any air......Cliff
