Possibly need new bushings?

My carb sat in a barn for 20 years.  Probably need shaft bushings?

Maybe. Take it apart and check to see how much play it has.

Just about all of them will need bushings installed.  Even the factory tolerance was too much for my liking.  Remove the primary shaft and insert one end of it into either side of the baseplate and wobble it back and forth.  You will be surprised at how loose they really are.

Even brand new NOS carburetors will have around .010-.012" side play.  Our bushing install kit reduces this to less than .001".....Cliff
