what to do with tube for canister on late model q-jet

Mr.Pontiac:
Any trick thing to do besides just putting in some sort of pipe plug after removeing tube??? I want to dychromate carb. and have it match up with carb. color.

The hole can be filled with lead, then smashed flat with a large punch.  You will hardly notice it....Cliff
