A good starting point. ?
« on: May 08, 2013, 09:35:10 AM »
Getting ready for a rebuild on a 704512. Its going on a stock spec. chevy 402 BBC in a late 60's Impala. What parts I'm looking to install are 73 jets with 44B tapered primaries. An S hanger with CP secondary rods. Airbleeds under .0125".
This engine pulls 17" hgs. and hp of 325 max. Recipe 1 is what I'm working with for a good starting point.
BTW this is a weekender car, no racing.
I'll be working on the other things later but asking opinions on this. Thanks all!

What is the rest of the carburetor part number?

I can provide the correct tuning parts when you call the shop.  73 jets and 44B rods would be extremely lean for a 1970's large MAB unit to be used on an early big block engine.....Cliff
