Throttle plates bein' a butt

Why....oh why....are my throttle plates so hard to re-install? I drilled and tapped for #6-32 screws, and that went well. Now, it's like the throttle plates, primary and secondary are too big for the bores. I know that can't be possible, but I'm having a time with it. Is this.....normal?

you dont have them upside down or backwards do you.? that will cause you a lot of headache. fwiw

throttle valves go in on an angle in the throttle bore.
if you have the throttle shafts at the idle position, just
drop the valves at an angle so they fit on the flats of the shaft.

Second this. Remember, the primary throttle shaft will travel way farther forward than normal with out the blades in there to limit the travel. They should be at ~30* angle. I install them one at a time to try to make life a little easier.
