q/jet #17080272
« on: July 14, 2013, 07:50:05 PM »
This q/jet is from an 80 f/bird w/301 and I just put it on my 76 f/bird with a edelbrock performer . It's been setting in my cabinet for a year covered up trying to keep it clean . I got it out on the bench and put a short hose on it and filled the carb and line w/gas to get things wet and primed to install. I had to break in the cam so I had to run it as is . I know I'll need to get a kit for it and such but for now I need to break things in . The air mixture screws are the rounded odd shaped adj. screws and I was wondering if any common tools fit at all to adj.it ?  Thanks for any help ???

Can you please post a photo of what they look like? I cannot picture which type you are referring to. :(

Perhaps he's talking about a DD screw head?

(To the OP - flat on two parallel sides, half circles on two parallel sides)

*usually* a carburetor tool will adjust it. Look around for the Thexton 350.
