Check ball Stuck

(1/2) > >>

Hey, I was following the instructions in cliff's book where it says to put the old check ball in and give it a light tap to get a good seat.  Well my light tap was bit much and now I can't remove it.  I tride to use a scrediver to losen the ball, but to no avail.  Thoughts on how I can get it out of there?  Thanks.

ff try tipping it upsidedown and tapping it on a piece of soft wood(pine etc ) also you can warm up the bowl while its upsidedown and the carb will expand faster than the ball.you can also take a blow nozzle and blow in the pump side to try get it out. be careful it may shoot out fast .fwiw

Ethan1:
Try blowing it out with compressed air.

Seating a check ball is a very light tap.  We've had quite a few folks knock the bottom off the casting doing this operation, but to date none have stuck the check ball.

I would take a sharp scribe and try to work it loose from above.  That's how I get rusted ones out of heavily corroded castings.....Cliff

Thanks guys.  I tried compressed air and tapping on it, but it didn't budge, I'll get a scribe and give it a try.  Once I get it out, I was wondering will the seat I created by pushing it in too far be too big for the new check ball?
