cam choice for Buick 430

<< < (2/2)

Marx3:
I am thinking the 212 then... but I feel I can go bigger...
I am worried about the 110 LSA on the 284. It just seems low. My buddy's Buick 455 idles like crap with 110 LSA and 9:1 cr

I fall in love with the sleeper 288-94... Could I pull this off? converter stays stock mind you...

Cliff Ruggles:
I'd avoid the 110 LSA as well.  We have had much better luck with 112-114LSA, better idle, broader power curve, and less sensitive to octane, etc.....Cliff

Marx3:
114 LSA regardless of the sligthly high duration #'s ?

I am trying to understand how LSA and duration relate to each other when it comes to idle quality.
Is it correct that off-seat time does not effect idle quality?

Marx3:
well, owner of the car chose and bought the TA 112 cam before I could have anything to say. I have a strong feeling the TA 212 would have been more fun without less idlequality.
Thanks for your advise anyways !
