gas on top of carb around acc/pump

I was installing a dist. on my bird and noticed some gas on top of the carb at acc/pump ? 17080272 carb. Any ideas ? Thanks

Some fuel may find it's way up there, but it shouldn't be leaking or a lot of fuel.  As play developes between the pump shaft and airhorn, it's easier for fuel to get above the airhorn......Cliff
