17056230 Rebuild Questions

(1/2) > >>

I have two 17056230 cores I plan to rebuild into one for my 1975 Chevrolet 350.  One of the air horns is in better condition except it is missing the plug in the hole next to the accelerator plunger (not the APT hole).  The metal is pretty thin there but I was considering threading and plugging it with a set screw similar to what is done for the APT hole.

Also I noticed in cliff's quadrajet book on page 88 the high performance carburetor picture looks to have epoxy in the well near the screw.  Is that a good method because I'd like to also use epoxy instead of the little gasket from a kit.

Thanks for any comments/suggestions.

crickets..... :)

Cliff Ruggles:
Can you post a pic of what you are talking about?....Cliff

ag_eet:
Thanks for the response Cliff.  See the hole next to the accelerator pump?

ag_eet:
Cliff, Is that epoxy around the front middle screw?
