if you are talking about the screwdriver slot, not usually. If the screwdriver slips and it makes a burr on the "top" of the jet, it shouldn't have any impact on the jet's metering...now, if the burr is at the bottom of the slot and towards the inner edge (where the metering hole is) then it would be possible for the burr to change the flow rate.
If you have any doubt, change the jet....a small price to pay for peace of mind..
