Just bought an engine (69 GTO YS) and on it is a 17057255. It is an Oldsmobile carb but just can't find the exact application. It has a divorced choke and a late model (the good one !) APT system.
I measured it and found very odd numbers:
main air bleeds: upper in air horn: .070", lower in main body: .028", yes .028"
main jets: 73
primary metering rods: 49k (.026" tip)
idle air bleeds: upper: .070", lower: .070"
idle tubes: .034"-.035" (.033" bit goes in easy, .036" won't go)
idle channel restriction: .039"
idle discharge at screws: .089"
idle air bypass: none
secondary rods: CV
hanger: M
what do you guys think ? pretty strange main air bleed (.028"), .039" idle channel restriction (not a lot bigger than idle tube ?)
I'm thinking this carb could be very nice looking on an old car because of the divorced choke, kind of best of both worlds ?
Frank.
