Need carb recommendation for truck
« on: May 20, 2014, 04:00:15 PM »
Hello from North Carolina;I am in the process of installing a new motor in my 82 Chevy full size pickup and needed a recommendation for a carbuerator.I am going old school with computer nothing, this will be a daily driver and will want to get "decent" gas milage(ha!) .My engine is a 350 bored .040 over with single relief cut flat top Hyperkinetic pistons. My cam and lifters are Comp Cams CS XE262H-10 set,it's their version of the origional 327/350 cam.The heads I have installed are 327 fuelie heads that are angle cut 100 thousandths on the spark plug side giving me an CR approximately 10.5 / 11 to 1.Transmission is an 700R4 and gears are 3.55.I am wanting to go back Quadrajet like I had on my 71 El Camino. Can you provide a product or carb number I can use for this combination?
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.Thank You in advance.(electic choke preferred).

welcome to chp. no matter what you buy your going to have to modify it for your application . i would shop for a 78 or 79 chevy there quite a few around .17058213or212 1978    17059213or 212 thats 1979 if you don't already have buy cliffs book.then modify according to you vehicle. cliff has 3 different set ups for different build in the back of the book it will get you close. you will have to tune after that. also highly recommended. buy his parts they work and they last. fwiw
