Float Bowl Volume
« on: June 20, 2014, 07:48:50 AM »
Looking for the ability to increase the float bowl volume in my Q-Jet. As the engine goes up through the rpm range on the dyno, it seems like the bowl runs empty and recovers. The engine stumbles slightly every 600 rpm or so going from 6000-7800 rpm.

Thanks

What is the largest needle and seat available? Might be an easier fix?

Thanks

Bowl volume is NOT the issue

The fuel is simply leaving the carb faster than it's coming in.  With only one needle/seat assembly to feed the engine fuel delivery with the q-jet needs to be up to par for the power level.

The carb could also have too small of a needle/seat assembly as mentioned, which is the first place to look when having fuel delivery issues.....Cliff
