adjustable pull off
« on: June 22, 2014, 05:24:47 PM »
I have been told of the availability of adjustable pull off's from Cliff, but I have been unable to locate them on the site. This would be for the air door used on several different Q-jets on our '67 Camaro Stocker.

yes, Ive heard of adjustable pulloff for certain carb numbers. I guess you would have to call about that one. I have never seen one that has the adjustment for the rate of opening. Another option would be to drill your diaphragm  out totally and then just use a "pill" in the vacuum line feeding the pull-off. (you could use a small piece of plastic drilled to various sizes. and installed in the line for the restriction) then you just keep 3 or 4 of them (at different size drillings) on hand and you just swap out the vac. line for the adjustment. I read that in Cliff's book. Seems like a great idea.

All of our Q-jets use these type of plastic pull off's...

Another racer claims he purchased his adjustable units here, but he runs Pontiac motors...unsure if that makes a difference.

Called Cliff and he indeed had the adjustable units. The plastic version is adjusted by turning a 1/16 hex key inside the inlet neck...the metal version I have not figured out yet and may need to be drilled.
