no where to attach choke pull off

The choke will not work correctly without a pull-off, it needs to be unloaded some on cold starts, or it will be too rich.

Yes, you need the pull-off and link to dampen the secondary opening or it will require too much spring pressure to keep it from stumbling when you go to full throttle....Cliff
