Casting Number 17082403

According to your book, this Carb was built in 1982, for California, for a Chevy with a manual trans.

These two carbs are off my 1989 Carver boat. (SB 305 GM Crusaders) Should the "0" be an "8" for marine use?

I don't think these carbs have been changed out, but maybe?

The majority of the boat use will be between 4300' and 5600' ASL

Do you see any problems?

I have two of your overhaul kits and hope to get started with the rebuilt next week or so.

Thanks for your help

Bob

They should be fine.  All Marine Q-jets will use the early float/fulcrum arrangment, even in the 1980's.  Pretty easy to identify them once they are apart.  Marine units also have a vent for the fuel pump overflow, and the main vent is slashed to put any fuel into the engine instead of into the bilge....Cliff
