Idle down channel restriction problem

I recently aquired a great 1979 olds quadrajet core that im rebuilding to recipie number three per Cliff's reccomendation and using his kit of course. When i got to the idle down channel restrictions i noticed one of the brass cups was missing so i harvested one off an extra q-jet i had lying around and gently pressed it to the orifice. What i noticed when i was done was the brass cup was about a centimenter lower then the other side and I just wanted to know if this will affect air mixture in anyway now that the restriction is a little bit lower in the orifice?? Thanks for your time guys.

It will probably be OK, but is best to have them at the same position in the casting.
We sell drive in and thread in idle down channel restrictions. The drive in ones are not "cups", but made from solid brass......Cliff
