The Quadrajet was improved in several ways over the years of production, including an electric choke heater. For your application find a '76 or later non electronic carb to build. That way you will have a carb that is very adjustable and can be modified to fit whatever changes you make to the 'vette. Cliff supplies parts that work well and can handle ethanol in today's fuels. This blog and Cliff's advice will get you the best results possible. Good luck on your build.

Like said^^ adjustability, divorced choke issues.

I use the later carb on my 74 Blazer and won't go back.

Unless you were doing period correct.
