Need some quick help with a 708 style
« on: March 24, 2015, 05:20:53 PM »
Back Story: I bought the book a few years ago, since it was my first Quadrajet rebuild.  Read it cover to cover and had great results.  I usually deal with installing fuel injection into my old rigs, but want to put a Quadrajet on my old Ford.

Issue:  Didn't have much luck finding info on converting a 708 stlye (86 Chevy Pick up was the donor) with the electric APT over to a non electric style, or wiring to use it, or blocking it.  This is a street/pull truck/play toy.  Currently only about 160 hp but I have started collecting parts for 350 hp/450 tq.

Since everyone loves pics, these are a few of my toys, the Quadrajet is going on the red Ford that has a 400 in it (4.00 bore x 4.00 stroke).

Originally had a 350 and Quadrajet, the reason I love them.
1 ton frame swap getting a International DT360

Ford High Boy getting a Quadrajet

I also have an 88 with a 5.3 swap and a Camaro getting a 6.0 swap.

it might help if you elaborate a little about the problem you are having, maybe a picture of the actual carb you are using could help also along with the complete part number
