The only good repair is to install a heli-coil and put an OEM style 7/8"-20 fuel filter housing back on the carb.

+2, 3 and 4 on those commercially "remanufactured" carburetors, they are complete JUNK at this point, I don't even want to see one in my shop for rebuilding......Cliff

Good plan.  I just broke my own rules and completely rebuilt and restored a commercially remanufactured q-jet for a customer because it sported the correct number for his application.  I'm now getting it back for the second time, and about ready to throw it in the dumpster and start over.  This NEVER-EVER happens with an original unit.  They just "butcher" up those reman's so much these days it makes them nearly impossible to get working correctly no matter how much effort you put into them!!!!!......Cliff
