leaks gas

Cliff,
If I drive my vett for 20 minutes or so it is hard starting also with hot engine off and after 5 minutes I will hear fuel purculating inside the carb and see fuel vapor rising out of the primary tubes then gas leaks out the primary throttle shaft holes in the throttle plate on both sides and down onto the hot intake
manifold. This was not a problem until I had this Q-Jet rebuilt recently. Carb # 7029207.  I'm hesitant to use the car until I hear from you on what you think it could be. Thanks for your help.

Cliff Ruggles:
The problem is a flooding condition or fuel level too high in the carburetor.  Could be debris in the needle/seat assembly.   If you have the means, let the carb run empty, then allow it to re-fill.  This may dislodge any material in the needle/seat assembly.....Cliff

Update:
I decided to open up the carb. and found that the rebuilder did not replace most of the parts that are normally replaced when a carb. is rebuilt. The cause of the leak was due to the inlet valve seat loosely
screwed in with no gasket which allowed the fuel level to be too high. The high fuel level in the bowl would expand when the carb. was hot and over flow on to the primary plates out the shaft holes in the throttle plate and onto the hot intake manifold. I rebuilt the carb. set the float to correct height and it now functions perfectly with no booster dribble.

Cliff Ruggles:
Good news, I hope that you installed Viton parts?.....Cliff

I'm not sure about that Cliff I used what came in the kit.  How long does todays gas blends affect the
parts and what will be the symptoms?
