Tip-in procedure universal?

I am ditching the old wideband and want to start tuning by actual feel, instead of trying to hit the right value on the wideband.
I have been thinking if the tip-in procedure can be used to tell the primary jetting on any carb, not just a Qjet?

Cliff Ruggles:
The tip in procedure shows us A/F at light part throttle, which for some carbs like the q-jet would be the jet/rod relationship with the fatter portion of the rod in the jets.

For other carburetors that don't use metering rods it would show the jet size without the power valve adding any fuel, 2CG or Holley for example......Cliff

But in general, the procedure can tell us when the afr is on the edge of lean, when rpm climbs slightly when richening up at about 2000 rpm? No matter what carb?

Sure, any rpm increase as you richen things up tells us that the A/F ratio at that point is lean....Cliff
