A/C IDLE Solenoid

Good morning gents,
Does anyone have a recomendation on RPM IDLE when the A/C idle up Solenoid is engaged.
I'm working on my 1983 Chevy G20 van with a stock 305 and I have my base idle set (per the spec under the hood), but my Idle with the A/C on is around 1500RPM which seems high to me. I believe I have the adjustable type solenoid and I was just wondering what RPM i should be seeing with the A/C on.

If it was my car, I would go by trial and error to see what RPM it needs when the AC is engaged, to keep it running good.
