cam and carb help
« on: September 30, 2015, 06:26:32 AM »
I got this cam today supposed to be the "Old Faithful" but it is a bit off.  I am hoping you can give me your expert opinion on whether the run it or send it back.  If I do run it should I adv the cam for a 108 icl? and I have 1.5 full roller rockers do I go to 1.65 to make up for the smaller lobe lift.

duration @ .006   286/296
              @ .050   236/244

events @ 114 icl
int    open 4  btdc      close 52 abdc
exh  open 56 bbdc     close   8 atdc

lobe lift   .363 int     .362 exh
LSA  114

468 Pontiac,  10.7:1 compression, KRE 290 D ports,  Factory Aluminum HO intake, Ra 2-1/2" manifolds. 3600# 70 TA, 3.42, 700r4 with 10" continental.

1705 726 Qjet with 73 jets, 44 pr rods .039 idle tubes, .059 Idle down channel and .110 by pass air.  What changes do I need to make if any to the carb?

I'd discuss the cam with who supplied it.  It's way off the OF specs.

Carb specs look fine, if the carb is a mid to late 70's Pontiac unit.....Cliff
