Changing rear pull off to front pull off?

I tried. You have to swap the air flap shaft so that it matches the front pull-off linkage. But then there was no stop on the air-horn. I think it wanted to go over-center or bind or something when fully open. (It's been a few years back, memory is rusty). I didn't want to swap air-horns since the carb was re-finished. I'm sure it can be done though. I stuck with the rear. Seems to work just fine.

We do it all the time, and it's pretty easy to make a stop.  We drill a small hole thru the airhorn at the correct location, then install a 4-40 allen head screw to provide a stop.

Another good way to provide a stop is to use a divider in the main casting with a "hood" over one of the nozzles.  This stops the flaps in the ideal location.....Cliff

Thanks Cliff, I'm sure yours are nicer than my setup, but here's what I did. The stop has a slot so I could adjust it a bit if needed.

Weld is super strong and wont wear down ever. Interesting i hadnt thought of that but will keep in mind i i learn how to modify these masterpieces that seriously set you back in your seat and you hold on for dear life.
