487 Chevy heads

Hey Cliff you seem to know a lot about heads I,v got a set of 487 small block Chevy heads date code says build in 1970 internet says 75cc chambers its got 194-1.5 valves.Are they any good for performance build of if anyone else knows any thing about them I would like to hear from ya thanks ......Dan

The 487 heads are excellent, they were used in 1971 and 1972 on 350 engines.  They share the same ports as the earlier 041 and 186 castings but have the larger combustion chambers and took the smaller tapered seat spark plugs.....Cliff
