I m having trouble identifying a what looks like a BOP Qjet I have and need help identifying it so I can Get a rebuild kit for it. I plan on using it to replace the worn out original on my 1976 Pontiac T/A

 Welcome to CHP!

 Very common with the early B-O-P QuadraJets. It is still a mystery why Rochester only gang stamped the last few digits of the carb number. In this case, the full carb number is 7029240, with the date of early January, 1969.

It does. Any idea what it came on originally?

 It came off a 1969 Buick GS, Riviera, 430cid, A/T. :)

I can put a rebuild kit together for any q-jet with or without a number.

That carb is a poor choice to replace the original 1976 Pontiac q-jet.  NOTHING is right about it aside from the straight in fuel inlet.

Linkage is wrong, wrong type of choke, incorrect vacuum source in the rear of the baseplate, and "goofy" linkage for the throttle cable.  It also lacks the large front vent to locate the air cleaner base and seal off the leak there......Cliff
