E85 conversion?

Has anybody modified a Quadrajet to use E85 fuel?  If so, what did you have to do?

Was there any performance improvement?

I'm thinking that would be difficult with the Q-jet. Although I do remember an article in a mopar mag where the guy adapted the "thermoquad" carb to E85. I might have to look that one up. I have not heard of anyone in particular who has done this to a Q-jet.  You might have a little performance edge but the engine would have to be built appropriately with more compression. The octane rating of E85 is the only advantage of using it. The fuel mileage will be less than with gasoline. I think the octane rating is up around 105 to 110.

Have't tried it myself, but have supplied parts to couple guys that did.  They are doing fine with it, but it takes a lot more of it than gasoline, so it's basically a "wash" for saving money, etc....Cliff
