fuel pressure?

(1/1)

Overcamber:
gotta ask sorry.?

how does fuel pressure effect fuel delivery?  I thought if the bowl needed fuel the float asked for it and shut off once it was satisfied?..I can understand low pressure/volume not keeping up but over on the high side of things I'm not getting?

is there a breif/quick explanation?

thanks
Gary

Cliff Ruggles:
Pressure of a liquid directly effects flow thru any orifice or line size.  I'm sure that there are more scientific ways to explain it, just keep in mind that when we are pushing a lot of fuel thru a tiny inlet seat, pressure is a BIG player in how much fuel passes into the carburetor in terms of volume.......Cliff

Thanks Cliff

hers another simple explanation . a pump does not create pressure,it produces volume , the restriction you push it through creates the pressure. hth

Pretty much what, Cliff, said, but in a more simple way. Makes a lot of sense. Thanks both for the explanation. 8)
