What is the difference between quadrajets for standards and automatics? I figure there must be a difference since they specify different numbers, but are they close enough to be interchangeable?

 Bill,
There is slight differences in jetting/metering and linkage on the throttle body. FWIW, I put a 1979 Corvette M/T carb on my A/T Chevelle and I had no problems. But, that is not to say you won't. Sorry, I cannot help out further. :(

Bill Stephens:
No problem. Appreciate your help. That's what I've been hearing from everyone so my guess is that it will work fine.

Cliff Ruggles:
The 07029207 and 7029207 SR carburetors were close in set-up to the originals but not exactly the same calibration.

I've built quite a few of each and the originals had smaller jets and metering rods on the primary side.

I suspect they recalibrated the SR's to cover a broader range of applications.  They are actually pretty common, but the original dated 7029207 carburetors are pretty rare.....Cliff
