May have screwed up my fuel bowl.

That's very good to know. How does one go about removing them w/out further damage?

If you are restoring a 1976 T/A it's not the correct carburetor anyhow. The 1976 Pontiac q-jets are better carburetors, and not to difficult to obtain, plus everything fits.....Cliff

I understand that, however, wouldn't a correct (later) year carb have less performance value? Just asking. Also, the rebuild kit I ordered was for that 74. Would that same kit work in a 76 carb?

The later carburetors are larger CFM with better features, so more potential for both power and fuel economy.
Very few of the parts from the early kit will work in it however.....Cliff
