Frank400:
I'm about to do some work on a friend's 7040244 (1970 Buick 350), would someone know what the factory specs are, just so I know if it's been modified before Istart ?

Any help would be appreciated.  Frank.

 Not quite.  :)

69 jets, 44B primary metering rods and BS secondary metering rods are the correct configuration, Frank. 8)

Frank400:
Thanks.

opened the one I have here and measured everything.  Here' what I found so far:

main jet: 69
main metering rod: 36B
upper main air bleed: .029" (s.032"mallest I've ever seen so far)
lower main air bleed: .069"

idle tube: .032"
down channel restriction: .055"
idle mixture screw discharge: .070"
upper idle air bleed: .057" (in air horn)
lower idle air bleed: .080

secondary rods: DH
secondary hanger: H

acc. pump discharge: .028"

no idle air bypass

shortest transfer slot I've ever seen at 3/32

Cliff Ruggles:
I've done a good many of those and haven't seen primary metering rods that small in any of them.

Hopefully you are putting one of out kits in it.  I would also free up the APT screw I the baseplate and install one of our external screws in it, and a set of larger primary metering rods so you can fine tune the part throttle A/F without taking the carb apart.....Cliff
