Have you adjusted the idle mixture to achieve the highest vacuum? How much vacuum do you have at idle?

I adjusted so it was at highest I could achieve with the vacuum guage acting irradicly it almost if the vacuum guage is buzzing but I cant find why I did try some other q jets I had laying aroung but there all in need of rebuilds and the holleys I have require an adapter plate that I don't have on hand right now I emailed the guy I bought all the cam heads and other pieces from to get his take on the vacuum reading I have the carb off right now in going to look at it some more  but I still thing I have some weird engine related issue thanks for the response steve
