Haagdakta:
Thanks for the heads up on the factory intake issue. I was able to score a very nice vintage Edelbrock Street Master locally for a mere $30.00! It has the provision for the front mounted oil tube. I haven't seen an intake like that either. Be interested in knowing what it is also

Ethan1:
I would also like to know what intake that is, Jim. Just out of curiosity.

77cruiser:
Late 70's supposedly answer to mileage & low end torque. Had it on my 305 in the Monte with a Holly 4360, still got 18 mpg same as the 421.

Here some info that I found.

I have a 283 in my 1964 Chevy ll Nova.It has a performer intake with Edelbrock 1406 carb (I have a Qjet 7042210 to install later) I ran the Qjet until a larger cam was installed with 601 HO heads. Cam spects 221&226 @.050 with 442& 446 lift. The Heads have 1.84 intake and 1.50 ext..Powerglide with 1.82 low gear with 3.36 rear axle.1406 carb is a little rich.still pulling at 100 MPH. when weather warms up the Qjet will go back on with Mods (I have Cliff's book.... :D
