Ethan, i love a good discussion thats whats great about this forum, why do you think they would put the same jet and needles in those 2 engines , you can throw a 350 in the carb of a 454 , where is all the fuel coming from to feed the monster no pun intended , I'm just trying to figure out gm,s thinking.

No, I completely understand your point of view. Maybe it was different in the 80s. What I mean is different size passage ways. I don't know, Jeff. Your guess is better than mine.

The 17085212 and 17085213 carburetors are heavy duty 454 Motorhome units. They were set up for 454 towing engines, and tuned completely differently than other q-jets from that period. They also take special gaskets and rebuild parts, so you may find them working poorly unless the correct parts were installed during the rebuild........Cliff
