Help! 1968 Pontiac Rochester

(1/2) > >>

unruhjonny:
I picked up a "core" carb today;
It's a 7028268.
It's missing the correct choke parts (had buick stuff in place);
Can anyone give me pictures of the 100% correct parts?

Also, where is the date code supposed to be on 1968 Quadrajets?
I am more familiar with 1969-1978 carbs...

 The date code can be in one-of-two places. Stamped on the ledge, after the part number OR stamped on the baseplate just below the ledge.

 Here is a link http://picclick.ca/1968-Pontiac-400-428-Quadrajet-Carburetor-Carb-7028268-381823536112.html#&gid=1&pid=4 to a page with a photo of the choke. Hopefully it helps.

unruhjonny:
Thanks for telling me where to find the date stamp Ethan!
My focus is & has been on 1970 Pontiac carbs;
Up to yesterday, I have only one (original, not service replacement) 1969 carb, and one service replacement 1968 (RA) carb;
I have seen and looked at 67-68 carbs, but since they are not my focus I haven't taken the time to observe differences and I haven't run a cross any that I felt were below value...

 Not a problem, bud. These older ones are a little bit different, that's for sure. ;D

Mr.Pontiac:
I may have that choke set-up if needed.
