That will be the smaller casting, typically dubbed 750cfm....

Cliff,
Thanks for the reply. I bought my RamAir III GTO new and thought they told me it was only 650 cfm at that time.  I replaced the carb with an Edelbrock 650 and it doesn't seem to perform like the original.  Is it likely that you can rebuild my original Qjet?

Well now I'm really embarrassed. Rather than depend on the owners manual carb info I went to the barn and dug out my original.  It's a Quadrajet all right, but it's a Carter!  I can't see any numbers on it; any idea about cfm for this one?  And do you rebuild Carters?

So you don't have the factory 7028273?

Carter never made any of the Pontiac Ram Air carburetors.  Can you post some pics of it?  Or send them to my email at:

I ordered the RamAir III car at the end of 1968; it was delivered at mid Feb 1969. About 10 years later a mechanic replaced the original carb and gave me the original which is in fact a Carter Quadrajet that I have kept.  I can send you a picture or I can drive over to your place which is only an hour away.  I'd enjoy more information.

Carter was not contracted to make any of the Ram Air carburetors.  If it is in fact a real Ram Air unit it will be the first one I've ever seen.

Looks like you are about an hour from my shop, we'll be here till noon today.....Cliff

Yes, bottom line: I didn't have original carb after all; Cliff is building me an 800 Qjet.
