Bad rebuild?

 Found something else, all 3 of the base plate screws were loose so I tighten them down. Could that cause crossleaks?

Unlikely as the two long rear screws and front mounting bolts do a good job of holding the parts together.  The thick gaskets they use help as well.....Cliff

 I found another bad sign today. I went to remove the fuel filter in the inlet and it was bent at one end. The filter was bent so bad that the metal end cap broke off, probably  letting unfiltered fuel into the carb.  :o  You would think a shop could install a fuel filter without breaking it.
