WTB: QJet core for rebuild
« on: August 27, 2018, 05:57:39 AM »
Looking for a rebuildable Pontiac style center inlet QJet that I can rebuild and put on my stock 67 GTO.  Doesn't need to be numbers matching. Prefer later for better tuning options.  My existing QJet is a side inlet style Chevy unit that i want to replace since it needs a rebuild anyway.

Hi,

I have multiple years of Q-jets, many Pontiac applications.  Are you running the divorced choke or do you want an integral choke carb ('73 on up)?

He's going to need 1967 to 1970, divorced choke.

The 1971 and later units (and the 1970 CA models) will have the top with the large front vent tube even though they were divorced choke thru 1972.

I'll also add although similar the divorced choke on a 1967 is slightly different than 1968-72's and may require minor modifications to get the geometry right.......Cliff

Cliff, depends on what intake he is running.  He can run the later intake on the 67 400 I believe.
