Base gasket?

I have been using a big open base gasket between my CCC Qjet and a ZZ4 (duel plane) intake manifold but I am wondering if a 4 hole base gasket would work better. The engine is just an L69 Chevy 305 still in emissions legal trim.

You might notice a very slight improvement in idle quality and throttle response right off idle.  Spacers and different gaskets are among the things you've just got to try with different applications to see what they like, and what works better....Cliff
