Replacing Main Well Bleed Tubes
(1/1)
von:
What's the easiest and best way to replace these tubes? I'm working on a carb that was shipped disassembled and the tubes look like pretzels now.
Cliff Ruggles:
The pull pretty easily from the airhorn. I use a pair of wire cutters and protect the carb surface with a piece of aluminum flat plate. Replacement tubes are scarce these days. Although slightly shorter, idle tubes without the collar can be used to replace them with no ill effects anywhere.....Cliff
77cruiser:
Von you have a PM.
von:
Thanks. What's the best way to install? I'm guessing heating around the hole then grasping the tube with wire cutters and gently tapping down on the wire cutters.
Cliff Ruggles:
I made a driver for them by drilling a hole in small bolt the exact size of the tips. This drives on the shoulder just above them....Cliff
